Junior Section

The junior section of the Tri-Anglia triathlon club caters for athletes of all abilities from ages 8 to 18. The focus of the Junior section is to primarily develop participation in triathlon, providing children with their first taste of the sport and also to help talented athletes progress to higher levels.  A range of competitions are available within Norfolk and Suffolk for all juniors to participate in.

Competitions  are split by age group as follows and the maximum distances that each age group can compete at are closely controlled.  The ages for each category are taken as of the 31st December.

No special equipment is required, particularly in the Tristar categories. Athletes are not able to compete in events held in open water or on public roads until they are in the Youth category so events are held in swimming pools and usually use school grounds for the cycling and running. This means that mountain bikes are particularly suitable.
