Sunday 6th April saw the 3rd edition of the Diss Duathlon take place at the Diss High School. The event, hosted by the Tri-Anglia Triathlon club, was a three stage discipline, featuring a 5km run followed by a 3 lap 30km cycle leg finishing with a further 5km run.
In bitterly cold and winter like conditions the 124 competitors were set off for the first run stage through town. The 1st athlete back into transition area was Lee Calderon of Tri-Anglia Triathlon Club in a time of 18:49, with Tim Lenton of Norfolk Gazelles and Andrew Walpole of Tri-Anglia in close pursuit. The three lap cycle course took a route out towards Burston and back along the Heywood via the single track roads at back Heywood Lane. Lee Calderon still held the lead position but Lenton and Walpole had slipped behind by 30seconds as the cyclists came into the 2nd transition. Calderon took overall victory by just over a minute in a total time of 1hr 27mins 32secs. There was a close battle for 2nd & 3rd places with Tim Lenton finally taking the 2nd position in a finishing time of 1hr 28mins 51secs and Andrew Walpole of Tri-Anglia finishing in 3rd place with a time of 1hr 30min 01secs.

In the Female category the Winner was 18 year old Natalie Sutton of the Tri-Anglia Triathlon Club in a time of 1hr 45min 5sec, in second place was Rebecca Adams of Tri-Anglia Club in a time of 1hr 46min 14secs and third place was taken by Nicola McIvor of UEA Triathlon Club in a time of 1hr 48min 5sec

Diss Special Constable Sophie Martin raised over £1000 for Leukaemia Research by completing her 1st ever mutisport event, Sophie crossed the finish line to a hail of cheers & applause in 2hrs 52min 50sec
