It is not just the health and well being of our members that benefit from association with the sports of triathlon. Charities and the community benefit too.

2008

These are the charities that we are aware that our members are raising funds for in 2008.  
  Rob Lines hopes to raise £600 for the Spinal Injuries Association through the completion of Ironman South Africa on Sunday 13th April.

Simon Edye is well on the way to his target of £400 for Marie Curie Cancer Care when he swims the 5k Swimathon on 17th April.

Colin Browning has set himself a target of raising £1,000 for East Anglia's Children Hospices when he cycles from  John O'Groats to Lands End between 17th and 30th May

Robbie Gleeson is making great headway towards his fundraising target of £1,000 for Cancer Research UK through his participation in the Norwich Triathlon bid on 6th July.

Jonathan Tyrrell is already over £600 towards his aim of raising £2,000 for Cancer Research UK in his first Ironman bid on 13th July at Ironman Austria.

2007

In 2007 our members raised well over £10,000 for various charities and local community projects.

  • Ironman Switzerland provided the vehicle for Peter Chapman to raise £3,000 for EACH and Rob Lines raised over £2,100 for Action Medical Research
  • Rob Lines donated his employers 'Inspiring Through Sport' award to the Norwich Canoe Club and Norwich Rowing Clubs combined Club House Project.  This was worth £1,700 to the project.
  • Jenny Mayne raised over £1,500 for the Hamlet Centre in Thorpe by raising sponsorship through her first Olympic Tri at Norwich.
  • Loch Ness Marathon enabled Sue Potter to raise over £1,200 for ChildLines.
  • Penny Edwards raised money for the Mancroft Advice Project in completing Ironman Hawaii.
  • Darren Powell raised £400 for Clic Sargent running the London Marathon.
  • Tri-Anglia donated £100 to CancerBackup.
