The course was slightly altered due to road works and both the run distance and the bike distance were a little shorter. I think the first run must have been about 9km and the bike was 37km followed by 5km. As it was my first race I was pleased to finish in a total time of 2:19 (rough splits 35 / 1:23 / 20) which gave me 5th place in my age group. I really suffered from inexperience in my pacing and was slow at the end of the bike leg, but picked up a few places on the final run where I am strong. I was also the only person biking in running shoes! Still, it meant transition was quick. I saw another Tri-Anglia member there, Lee Caulderon, who had an excellent race. He was 29th overall and placed 4th in his category.

Update - as a result of her efforts Lynn has qualified for the ITU Duathlon World Championships in Rimini in September.
