Stage 3 - 2007 Round Norfolk Relay
Runner's CommentsFantastic change over stage scenery wise, but no loos – I need to go at least three times before I run, did the organisers not know this, and its ok for you blokes, handy hedge no problem but it’s a bit barren for a lady. Anyway Peter comes storming in and I am off. Will had kindly offered to run with me (for the off road stages runners are allowed an accompanying runner and I did not fancy the pine woods alone being a city girl…). I run a 10 minute mile, Will tells me we have completed the first mile at 9.5 minute mile pace – Will it was not because I was being competitive, it was because I was bursting for a pee and trying to make it to the pine woods as quickly as I could! Miles 2 and 3 were interesting ie where do we go, its grass/sand/up/down and not that well marked. The rest of the run is uneventful except I overtake some-one and he started before me and its very unusual that I manage to do this so I wanted it noted! As we come into the car park at Wells I start to feel unwell, but I can see the finish and Stewart waiting, so put in a final spurt – I heard a spectator say “I think she is about to be sick…..” Kerry Davis |
