Noddy can ride!
There has been recent photographic evidence that the Enid Blyton character
Noddy has been seen riding a bicycle on both sides of the channel.
Both English and French media have been scouring the countryside to seek
further proof and find real story behind these headlines.
Or perhaps I should just come clean. Put my hand in the air and face
the music for masquerading as a popular infants character.
In July this year I took part in Action Medical Research's London to Paris
bike ride (25-28th July).
This is the fourth consecutive year that I've joined the ride. And
well, I needed to do something different to make it special. A friend from
previous years asked if I would play Noddy to his Big Ears. A quick spot
of research to ascertain if the characters meant anything to the French yielded
that Noddy is bigger than Bob the Builder meant that the costumes were quickly
hired. Though big Ears and Noddy are known a Poiteron and Qui-Qui en Français.
Riding 300 miles in 4 days with a group of friendly cyclists is always fun
and this fourth year didn't disappoint. It's a great ride and I'd
recommend it to anyone.
