Broome 10k - Good Friday, Roger Wing MemorialGood Friday - 6th April 2007.Organised by the Bungay Black Dog Running Club the Broome 10k is a friendly local event. The course is a sociable out and back which is flat for the first and last two kilometers but climbs to a high point at the turn around, but despite the hill this is a fast course and lots of personal best times have been recorded here. There were 80 entrants to the event from mainly local clubs which made for a friendly atmosphere. The largest representation being from the White Horse Terriers. The White Horse is a pub in Chedgrave and to my knowledge the only pub to have it's own running club. Being newly established today was their first outing in their new club colours and by fielding 20 runners they were definitely in the majority. There was also a good representation from Tri-Anglia with members running either in their first claim running club or Tri-Anglia colours. For Tim Chen, Jonathon Tyrrell and Rob Lines this was their first runs since the previous Sunday's Bungay Marathon and Tim even ran to the start in Broome from Porringland (over 10 miles) as a warm up. Also running were Gareth Walker fresh from his Bungay Half Marathon, Russell Clarke, Dave Ledward, Gillian Bee and Darren Bidle. Personal Best times were recorded by Robert Kilbourn with 40:40 (m:s) and Nicola McIver who took 7 minutes of her 10k time to win the ladies race in 41:03. All finishers received a Cadbury's cream egg, Nicola a large Aero Easter Egg for being winning lady and Jonathon Tyrrell picked up an additional Easter Egg in the raffle. Results
