8 am at Easton College . The dedicated few raced off, having been told in no uncertain tones that this was not a race.
Joe Skipper soon had a 50 metre advantage on the field whilst Simon Edye & Glen Nelson swapped positions, with Penny Edwards biding her time just behind them. Joe and James Hassan came into transition well ahead of injury blighted Nelson with Edye puffing and blowing half a minute behind.
Onto the Bike and Skipper and Hassan playing the waiting game and allowing Edye to pull back a few seconds.
The second run proved conclusive for James Hassan, who had saved enough to pull away and finish seconds ahead of improver Joe Skipper ,who is getting faster and faster.
Some minutes pass before the older folk start rolling in, with Penny Edwards almost succeeding in catching Glen Nelson who thought it was safe to coast the final run!
Dave Gilbert and Heather Hollister followed to enthusiastic cheers, with Julie Potter completing a bike run and looking very relaxed at the finish. Thanks to all the helpers.
